Italian harpist Claudia Lucia Lamanna performs around the world as a soloist, chamber musician and in orchestras.
Biography
Italian harpist Claudia Lucia Lamanna performs around the world as a soloist, chamber musician and in orchestras. As a soloist, she has already performed in the Oslo Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Merkin Concert Hall in New York, the Auer Hall at Indiana University in Bloomington, and many other venues. She was invited to give recitals at the Festival International de Harpe, Wales International Harp Festival and Thailand International Harp Festival. She performed in Canada and Australia at the World Harp Congress and also for the Italian national broadcaster RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana.
Lamanna has had many successes in international competitions including Fifth Prize at the prestigious 10th USA International Harp Competition in Bloomington, one of the most important harp competition in the world, where she also received the Zaniboni Prize. She is also First Prize winner of the Camac Harp Competition 2019, of the Premio Claudio Abbado 2015 – XI Edizione del Premio Nazionale delle Arti, and of the Thailand International Harp Festival and Youth Competition. In 2022, Lamanna was awarded First Prize at the 21st International Harp Contest in Israel, considered the most prestigious harp competition in the world.
Lamanna was harpist for La Scala Academy Orchestra in Milan from 2017-2019. Lamanna has studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Brussels, the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo and at the Royal Academy of Music in London, as part of the prestigious Bicentenary Scholarship scheme.
