The McCluskey Brothers
The McCluskey Brothers
Perfect pop from the two former members of Glasgow band The Bluebells.
Biography
The McCluskey Brothers were formed by Ken and David McCluskey in 1986 after their departure from successful pop group The Bluebells. Marrying choppy guitar sounds and Celtic soulfulness, these siblings have a unique and intuitive understanding of melody, harmony and rhythm. Their sound and eclectic approach has influenced a goodly number of Glasgow-based bands. Using arrangements that allow the often intense lyrics to breathe, they recorded a critically-acclaimed album for Linn Records in 2000. Almost a decades worth of work, it contains material from two previous albums, some self-penned material along with lost Scottish folk songs. Additional members of the group include Gary Kane (bass), Ross McFarlane (drums) and Ali MacCleod (lead guitar).
