Sollazzo Ensemble - Parle qui veut - The Sunday Times
Most of these late-medieval French and Italian songs rail against the practice of slandering lovers, though one beautiful work by Francesco Landini deplores the abuse of music. Pieces by da Perugia, Andrea and Paolo da Firenze, Ciconia and others offer variety of style and mood, while the aptly slippery lines of Solage's Le Basile compare slanderer with snake. The Sollazzo Ensemble brilliantly express text and flavour.
