Maeve O'Boyle - Live - Daily Record
Such was the success of the 21-year-old's short-notice date at the West End venue, the former Daily Record National Talent Search winner will now perform here on the last Thursday of every month. Backed by piano and guitar, and surrounded by lots of large mirrors, the audience got to see every side of O'Boyle as a performer from the sweet parting sorrow of Romeo, to a tune called Facing Home, written for her grandfather.
Even Taxi, the first song she said she'd written as a 13-year-old, could have been penned by Damien Rice.
When she sang you could have heard a pin drop, which isn't always the case when a Glaswegian attempts to sing something sensitive to an Edinburgh audience.
