Ian Bruce - Alloway Tales - Royal 945am Liverpool Radio

As an Englishman playing this album of songs by Robert Burns was a task I was not looking forward to. Words that would mean nothing to me and would go over my head. As I listened to the words they were not losr in this English mans head. The more you played it, the more you enjoyed the words and music of Robert burns. 

Ian has put this music into the next millennium.

To say he has captured the moment he has gone beyond that.

Ian has allowed people to take a fresh look at the works of Robert Burns in a way that has been overlooked. By singing as it written  today and not trying to put the words accross in a heavy accent. Maybe they were sung in the past this way but people lost much in trying to understand the beauty of the words. I have played thia album over a dozen times and still find it refreshin to listen to.

With the New Year not far away I will be playing this on the night.
