Sunday Times' Top 100 Albums of 2009 revealed...
Retrospect Trio's recording ‘Henry Purcell: Ten Sonatas in Four Parts' has been included in the Sunday Times ‘Top 100 Albums of 2009'. The list, which includes all genres of music from rock and pop to world to left-field and classical, is published annually and uncovers the pick of music releases chosen by the Sunday Times critics.
The Sunday Times' Hugh Canning stated: "Matthew Halls's Retrospect Trio, comprising former players of the King's Consort, is heard here in stylish accounts of this great baroque chamber music".
This is wonderful news, especially due to the many fantastic Purcell recordings released this year to mark the composer's anniversary. Congratulations to Retrospect Trio!
