The Scottish mezzo-soprano records Berg and Wagner with Thomas Søndergård and the RSNO.
This week sees the Thomas Søndergård and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra are recording the second in their new series . Søndergård, who was recently appointed Principal Conductor with the RSNO, will conduct symphonies by Prokofiev in his first symphonic recording with the orchestra. Following a concert performance The Herald commented, “This was the conductor at his most energetic and impassioned, and it drew a corresponding performance from the orchestra.” The Fifth Symphony was written in difficult circumstances but Søndergård’s interpretation highlights the positivity, humour and energy in the work.
