One to watch: SCO's Robin Ticciati
The 27 year old principal conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Robin Ticciati, has just been named as one of the ten new conductors on the verge of greatness. In addition to conducting the SCO, Ticciati is also the principal guest conductor of the Bamberg Symphony.
Ticciati is known for his ability balance and pace orchestras, while highlighting the beautiful colours of the composition at hand. Sir Colin Davis first met Ticciati when he was performing with the National Youth Orchestra and had this to say about the young conductor, ‘He's a very gifted young man and he takes his task extremely seriously at the same time as getting a great joy out of music. That's what really counts most.'
The SCO and Linn have great expectations for Robin Ticciati and look forward to working with this extraordinarily talented conductor as his career develops. For more information about the SCO or to see Ticciati conduct the SCO, click here.
