François Leleux Conducts Bizet
Today the Scottish Chamber Orchestra embarked on a new recording with its 2018:19 Season Featured Artist, François Leleux. The popular oboist expanded his successful collaboration with the SCO this season as he returned to the ensemble for conducting, play-direct performances and chamber music throughout the year. Leleux commented: "The personality of the Orchestra is sparkling, and the individuality strong. The Orchestra has a great commitment to the music and is very flexible”.
The pairing will record Bizet’s Symphony in C written in two months when he was just 18, which is simply full of life, exuding brilliance, charm, wit and great tunes. In addition the programme will include suites by Bizet and Gounod, all recorded in Caird Hall, Dundee.
