Emelyanychev On His New Recording

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Maxim Emelyanychev will release their first album together on 8 November 2019. Here's what the new Principal Conductor had to say about Schubert: Symphony No 9 in C major ‘The Great’:

"This piece holds great significance for me as it began my journey with the SCO. There are many brilliant recordings of this symphony which I greatly enjoy and have inspired my own interpretation. A new recording must communicate something contemporary and with this album, I want to explore what the music is saying at this time, with this orchestra and this particular combination of extraordinary musicians."
