Dunedin’s Bach is 'Choral & Song Choice' in BBC Music Magazine
'A beautifully paced, exhilaratingly executed performance'
The Dunedin Consort's recording, 'JS Bach Matthew Passion', has been included in Stereophile's '2009 Records To Die For'. In the feature each Stereophile writer was asked to choose a pair of recordings that they would not want to live without. The reviewer John Atkinson selected 'JS Bach Matthew Passion' as his first choice! He states: "the sound is immediate without being bright, rich without being muddy, close but with a dome of ambience readily discernible around and behind the singers." He continues to say "here's to a hi-rez B-minor Mass from the same forces!" Look out for the next Dunedin's recording, 'JS Bach: Bach Mass in B Minor', coming in May 2010.
