Dunedin Consort to treat London to a rare performance…
Help celebrate the launch at St John's, Smith Square
Wow! Dunedin Consort has won its second Gramophone Award and we are thrilled. Today Gramophone named Dunedin Consort the winner of its 2014 'Choral' Award, describing the recording as 'one of the finest Mozart Requiems of recent years'.
After winning the 'Baroque Vocal' Award for Handel: Messiah in 2007 we are proud that this outstanding ensemble has once again been recognized by the top classical music industry awards.
John Butt, director of the Dunedin Consort, stated: 'I am absolutely delighted to hear that the Dunedin Consort has won another Gramophone Award, complementing our success with Messiah in 2007. We are exceptionally fortunate in having an absolutely superlative team of soloists, choir and instrumentalists, the most supportive board and management we could hope for, and, of course, the unsurpassed work of Linn Records at every level of production. This success is also a wonderful reflection of our generous Scottish supporters and donors, in a particularly crucial year for the country.'
