The Dunedin Consort named the 11th greatest choir!
Acis and Galatea (Original Cannons Performing Version 1718) by Dunedin Consort is back in the Official UK Classical Chart this week, after a sterling review on BBC Radio 3. CD Review's popular 'Building a Library' feature, named Acis and Galatea its first choice.
The broadcast sparked an upsurge in sales of this revelatory recording and resulted in a chart placing at Number 8.
The recording, which was released in November 2008, was also named 'Editor's Choice' and 'CD of the Month' in Gramophone, 'Recording of the Month' on MusicWebInternational.com, 'Opera & Vocal Disc of the Month' in Classic FM Magazine, 'CD of the Week' in the Observer and won an 'Opus d'Or' award in France.
